I may have been gone, but that doesn't mean I've stopped collecting. How about we start with news even no-can enthusiasts are excited about: The return of Surge.
They were only available on Amazon, probably because Coca-Cola wanted to see how much demand there was. Apparently, there is a lot because they're now sold out. Does this mean we will get packs in stores? Most likely. I'll just be glad to finally add one to my collection. The prices for originals on Ebay are higgghhh.

Late Soda Can News: Dr. Pepper Vanilla Float
OK, so apparently in April there was news about a flavor of Dr. Pepper reminiscent on taste with Vanilla Float for a limited time. It says it would be released in May, however I have never seen it. Hopefully, this isn't something regional because some flavors of soda are nowhere near my area. Moving on, it makes a lot of sense releasing it in May. It is apparent why when we look at the design.
It all looks, feels, and just screams summer and patriotism. With summer, Memorial Day, and the 4th of July close to each other; it makes sense to release it in May. This can is definitively on my list of cans to get, I just love anything limited edition.

Soda Can Thoughts: Whoops
I'll be honest, I completely forgot what day it was today. Last week was hectic. So, be ready for two posts this week after this one!
I always look for more soda related websites/blogs that I find interesting. One that I liked is the Mtn Dew Kid. Though not specifically cans, he has interesting post about new releases and history about Mountain Dew. So you should check him out!

Just a Few Blog Changes
I need to update my blog! I have been thinking about how hectic my blog seems, as I have basically no schedule. So, at least one post will be made every week. Also, I have thought of implementing a theme for each post I make. Here is what I have in mind.
Soda Can Review: A review of both the can and/or the taste of the beverage.
Soda Can News: When any type of new can or flavor catches my eye.
Soda Can Round-Up: A look at a can already in my collection.
Soda Can Thoughts: Thoughts about the overall hobby.
and lastly,
Soda Can Trades: Where I show cans I have traded with other collectors (Though I haven't traded yet I'm sure this will be implemented in the future.)
How does that sound? Hopefully it will change the blog for the better!

Soda Can News: New 7-Up
With no new interesting cans in a while, I haven't had anything good to post. So one day looking for material, lo and behold, while looking on a food website, I found this:
Apparently there is a limited edition pineapple and mango flavor of 7-UP. Whether this is just in 16 oz. cans and not 12 oz. is right now not known. I still haven't found the time to get the 12 oz. Baja Blast, and the 24 oz. still hasn't come to any of the convenience stores nearby. The amount of limited edition sodas is starting to be overwhelming.
Source is here.

Baja Blast Coming to Stores?
OK, so Mountain Dew released a flavor called "Baja Blast" exclusively for Taco Bell back in 2004. I have had it a couple of times, and thought it was a just alright flavor. However, my opinion is different from the masses. It has been one of the biggest selling fountain drinks at Taco Bell, and has been requested in bottle and can form. Now they have their wish granted, because tomorrow they are releasing them in bottles, and both 24 oz. cans and 12 oz. until the end of the summer.
Now it goes on to the list of Mountain Dew flavors that I need to find. I don't know how good that will go since I can't even find the Code Red, Voltage and LiveWire flavors.
Oh well.

The Finds for this Week
Here are some cans I have bought since last Friday.
The highlights are a Coke can that you learn more about here, and the Sprite 6 Mix. Here is a little story about it. Lebron James collaborated with Sprite to make a flavor that mixes to of his favorite tastes, cherry and orange. It is supposedly at Family Dollar. I have a Family Dollar close by. I remember passing it a few times there, however, not liking sports that much caused me to not buy it. Later while in the store, though, I was compelled to get it for two reasons. Number 1, it was the last one they had, and I didn't want to regret. Number 2, the new flavor. Sprite in recent years doesn't really many different flavors, so it was interesting to taste something different for once. I was so excited to taste it I tasted it as soon as I got home. The verdict? It is surprisingly good. The orange is not to citrus-y, and blended well with the cherry.
So though not a big haul, I'm happy.
Also, I wanted to talk about my focus. I'm now going to collect every size of can, and I'm only collecting Coca-Cola, PepsiCo, and Dr. Pepper/7-Up brands. (Along with any teas I find, i.e. Peace Tea and Sweet Leaf Tea ) This way, though there is still a giant amount to choose from, it is still narrowed down. Happy Hunting!
